More package managers?

on Mon Jan 08, 2018 1:03 pm
Hi,

I am thinking about more ways to distribute packages. Does somebody use Homebrew or Chocolatey? Should we invest time in this?

On Windows, I install a lot of OSS software via PortableApps (very guessable external link that I cannot post yet  Smile ). It's handy for managing the subsequent updates. FYI, when you suggested telegram as a channel for questions, I installed it that way.

Yes, but we already provide portable version for Windows.

Indeed. That is the version I use. PortableApps provides a handy way to search for and install all your portable applications in one shot. Like other package managers, each time you start it up, it checks for updates for you and manages their installation. Just a thought.
